Denise found that Behind the Panels had mentioned my Lantern City variant cover for Boom! Studios as one of the Top Covers for May 2015, so I am sharing that with you here. If you haven’t heard of Lantern City, do check it out – it’s Bruce Boxleitner’s very cool, gorgeously rendered world – a Steampunk action adventure tale. Here is the variant cover art for you. Let me know what you think of it.
Dear Friends,I did the artwork for my friend’s podcast – here is information on it for my fellow STAR WARS fans:The show is It’s a Trap! with original artwork created by Dave Dorman and is meant to discuss each piece of the new Disney approved standard of Star Wars Canon with an eye to point out anything new being brought in from the now Legend-s story arc. We hope to reach people that want to know what happens, but don’t have the time to read/watch, or people that have already consumed the story and want to hear our thoughts, what we caught, and hopefully might be willing to let us know what we missed! We are committed to putting out at least fortnightly until such a time as our listeners make us move to a weekly production format.

I am here at Denver Comic-Con this weekend (show ends Monday), so please come see me if you’re in the ‘hood. I’m at the very end of “Aisle I” in Artists Alley. If I’m not there, I’m in the BattleKasters Booth, which is in the “game room.” I did the art for their mobile app game, which is being released this weekend, but I can share it here.
And another piece:
Also, a dear fan created this for me on Facebook (this is a photo taken of me this weekend at Denver Comic-Con) and I promised him I would post it, so here it is:
I was surprised and thrilled to see this amazing LEGO recreation of my Star Wars art, Lord Vader’s Persuasion of the Outer Rim. I would love to get a high-res image of this to print out and hang in my studio next to my print, and to also present this artist with a Lord Vader’s Persuasion print (if he or she doesn’t already have one). Can YOU help me find this artist?
My Facebook page has been blowing up with comments about this new piece, and we’re all having fun with this. It’s a huge honor to see my work recreated, just as it was when this fan Tomi Demolka had my Lord Vader’s Persuasion art tattooed onto his back:
Thanks everyone, for any help you can provide in helping me track down this artist and personally thank him or her. My next show is Denver Comic-Con in May, and I look forward to seeing some of you there.
If you’re in Chicagoland and you’re a #comics fan, join us tomorrow at REEL ART in Berwyn, IL–one of the most gi-normous emporiums of comics and pop culture collectibles you’ll find (where Denise Dorman bought me my “Big Wednesday” film poster last year, as seen below):
Please join me and a few of my comic book artist and illustrator friends tomorrow from 1 – 3 p.m. – I’ll have original art, prints and autographs are ALWAYS free:
